Named for the street my grandparents lived on in Penicuik just outside of Edinburgh, in honour of their support and encouragement, starting with watching Disney’s Fantasia together (still a firm favourite) to travelling down from Scotland to Sussex for my very first conducting gigs, the Cruachan Court Orchestra was started in 2024 as a place to bring together professional musicians in Scotland.

The orchestra does not receive grants, and runs on its own ticket sales as well as generous private contributions. We do this to remain self-sufficient: too many great ensembles have folded or downsized after a relied-upon public grant did not appear, and we don’t want to risk that! You can now buy merchandise to support the orchestra from our Redbubble store. All profits get reinvested in the orchestra, so if you’ve always wanted another branded tote bag, coasters, or even a new shower curtain you can have it with our branding or concert art!
